- Abstract
The article presents the results of a study of the activities of a number of teachers of the Higher Artistic and Technical Workshops – V. D. Baranova-Rossine, N. A. Sheverdyaeva, N. A. Ladovsky – on the creation of the basic principles of the aesthetics of Soviet design. Soviet design is a new artistic practice that arose as a result of applying the principle of transforming public consciousness through the artistic impact of great power. In the 1920s, VKhUTEMAS teachers conducted experiments on visual perception and searched for new art forms and new artistic tools to enhance this perception in order to contribute to the creation of a revolutionary transformation of reality and the emergence of a new person. The cultural revolution of the 1930s would have been impossible without the artistic experiments that preceded it, including those related to the synthesis of the arts, with the transformation of the visual picture of the world, which were carried out within the walls of VKhUTEMAS by outstanding artists and teachers
