- Abstract
This article is devoted to the consideration of the representation of the cultural memory of the Krasnoyarsk region in the projects of the XV Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale “AVENICEESINEVA”, implemented by The Ploshchad Mira Museum Center at different venues in the period from 21 September 2023 to 25 February 2024. The choice of a major museum exhibition to explore the theme of memory and oblivion of the past is due to several factors. Firstly, the original mission of the museum is to preserve cultural heritage and act as a place of remembrance. Secondly, modern practices in museology – to create such an immersive environment for the public that the viewer can independently turn to the past, finding the meanings associated with the current time. The Museum Biennale is a major event in the cultural life of the city, where local and invited artists, under the careful curatorship of local and visiting artists, turn to the exploration of the region, its cultural memory, local identity, etc., capturing their discoveries in creative works of art. The XV Krasnoyarsk Biennale is the only one that took place in Russia in a complex geopolitical environment. It was examined on the example of several installations of the main project. Turning to the works of young artists allowed to reveal a new perspective on the cultural memory of Krasnoyarsk Krai residents, moving away from real events and evidence of the past to poetic and visual abstractions and symbols
