Abstract

The article considers the Church- public activity resulting from the counter movement and interaction of the educational system and the Russian Orthodox Church at the levels of general education. Krasnoyarsk region is analyzed for that matter. The study continues the discussion about the relevance and necessity of addressing religious cultures in the contemporary educational process and the related interaction of the educational system with religious organizations of Russian traditional faiths. Resulting from the aforementioned analysis, main directions, problems and prospects of Church-public activity are highlighted. This activity is mainly associated with the implementation of subjects of a spiritual and moral orientation, the organization of educational work and practices within the framework of a secular school, addressing the values, meanings, and resources of religious cultures. The study also notes that Church- public activity in form and content are organized in accordance with the secular nature of education, are devoid of missionary intentions due to a cultural approach, and takes into account the specifics of spiritual and moral education. The considered activity studied in Krasnoyarsk region is developing noticeably, resulting in methodological recommendations, modern unique cultural and educational media resources, meaningful and large-scale regional conferences, all of which are improving the conditions for teaching subjects of spiritual and moral orientation. The study shows the sociocultural significance of Church-public activity, its direct and indirect influence on the formation of the culture in the region. As a result, it is reasonably concluded that more intensive development of interaction between the educational system and the Russian Orthodox Church is possible in the conditions of modern sociocultural transformations, the current regulatory framework and the tasks defined in the country’s strategic documents. The results of the study may be demanded for building communications between representatives of the educational system and religious organizations of traditional faiths, in particular with various institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church
