- Abstract
The purpose of the work is to characterize meaningfully and determine empirically the possibilities of social activity to reduce the frustration of basic needs and various forms of socially dangerous human behavior. The methodological foundations of the conducted research were the principles of cultural-historical, system-activity, resource and cognitive- behavioral approaches with the methods and technologies of modern cognitive science. The theoretical provisions of the study were worked out using cognitive modeling and graph theory. The functioning of cognitive models was tested by means of a simulation computational experiment and a mathematical method of simplicial analysis. The results of the experiment demonstrated an unambiguous direct relationship between the level of frustration of a person’s basic needs, as well as his self-realization, and the degree of his involvement in social activities. The wide participation of people in public activities allows for comprehensive and full actualization of basic needs and thereby reduce the risks of socially dangerous behavior, especially addictions and, in particular, drug addiction
