- Abstract
The article deals with the development of migration flows between Krasnoyarsk Krai and Uzbek SSR in the period from 1961 to 1969. During the period under consideration, both Krasnoyarsk Krai and Uzbek SSR entered the next phase of industrial modernisation, which involved the creation of new large industrial complexes, whose work was based on the use of cheap electricity from hydroelectric power plants under construction. This in turn activated urbanisation processes. Thus, both regions were in need of the labour force. Both territories under consideration were recipients within each country. At the same time, both regions had a similar economic profile and were characterised by relative proximity, which should have facilitated migration exchange. The study examined arrivals, departures and the migration balance. At the same time, the Uzbek SSR was not considered as a single object, but in the context of its administrative regions and economic districts. The flows themselves were analysed both as a whole and in terms of urban and rural populations. The materials showed that despite the need for labour force in relation to the Uzbek SSR, Krasnoyarsk Krai was a donor region. At the same time, the main flows linked Krasnoyarsk Krai with the Tashkent economic region, the profile of which coincided with Krasnoyarsk Krai as much as possible. In fact, both regions needed similar labour resources, but due to the fact that the level of development of the Krai was still higher, it could be a recipient
