- Abstract
The article is devoted to the history of the creation of the art museum in Krasnoyarsk, as well as the ways in which its concept was formed. In order to recreate the context, it also examines the history of the development of concepts of other art museums, highlighting both common and unique features in the concepts of leading federal art museums. In relation to the Surikov KAM, the study uses existing publications and introduces a number of new data on the history of the development of the idea and concept of the Krasnoyarsk Art Museum into scientific circulation. The article examines the emergence of the idea of an art museum in Krasnoyarsk from the very first stage – the formation of an art collection in the City Museum created in 1889, as well as from the time of the formation of the Krasnoyarsk Art Gallery in the late 1950s. A number of periods are considered by the authors as a turning point in the life of the Surikov KAM. Such were the 1980s, when the gallery expanded its premises, the revision of the basic activities of the Surikov Kharkiv Art Museum took place in the period from 2011
