- Abstract
The article is devoted to the research of the relationship between personality traits and suicidal tendencies in boys and girls. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to understand the gender-role specificity of suicidal tendencies in order to plan preventive measures. The research design involved a comparative analysis of correlation galaxies in two groups (boys and girls). The empirical sample consisted of 106 people, including 59 girls and 47 boys aged 12 to 14 years. Diagnostic tools: adolescents: Cattell’s 14-factor personality questionnaire 14PF / HSPQ (adaptation by Kapustina); suicide risk questionnaire by Shmelev (modification Razuvaeva); questionnaire for adolescents (11 years and older) revised Columbia DISC Depression Scale. Methods of mathematical statistics: grouping data by their values, assessing the central trend of distribution, Mann–Whitney U-test, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. It has been established that there are differences between girls and adolescent boys in terms of personality traits and suicidal tendencies. The provisions and conclusions contained in the work can be applied in the field of psychodiagnostics of students of middle and senior classes of schools, colleges, for conducting individual and group work with adolescents, as well as for psychological support of risk groups
