- Abstract
A distinctive feature of traditional cultures is the profound connection between all their constituent elements. Specifically, in traditional culture, practices related to obtaining, preparing, storing, and consuming food are not limited to satisfying physiological needs but also have a sacred significance. The food culture of indigenous peoples is a key factor in preserving and maintaining a positive ethnic identity for these peoples in the modern world. The aim of this study is to examine the food culture of the Nenets, a Samoyedic ethnic group living in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The study analyzed existing scientific approaches to examining this phenomenon. The study found that the food culture of the Nenets of the Krasnoyarsk Territory has not undergone significant changes over the course of their existence. Although various foods imported from various regions of Russia and other countries are currently available in the area where indigenous peoples live, the Nenets diet remains based on traditional meat and fish, and traditional methods of obtaining, preparing, storing, and consuming them have been preserved
