Abstract

The paper applies the principles of quantum physics to the translation process. The relevance of the paper lies in both the demand of interdisciplinary research into interpretation process and the global scientific community’s keen interest in quantum physics findings. Here the authors analogize the double-slit experiment with the process of speech production and perception when a thought undergoes transmission and its interiorization in the realm of intra- and interculture. So, the author’s message progression starts as the state of superposition, having the potential to be dually perceived before a transfer into the target text comes into being. The analysis of the cross-disciplinary research is generalized into a translation metamodel. In its core lie the ideas of C. Nord, A. V. Karpov, H.-G. Gadamer, J. Ortega y Gasset, A. Chesterman, M. Baker, and P. P. Dashinimaeva. Political discourse serves as the metamodel illustration material
