- Abstract
The article studies main metaphors which contained in scientific patterns of the world of modern sociology. The author maintains that there is the change of main metaphors in the modern sociological theory from the metaphor of social system to metaphors of social network and rhizome .The sociologists who used the metaphor of the system have realized that all of the social processes not random, interlinked. Researches who used the metaphor of the system have described the context of social processes. The metaphor of the network allows to see the permeability of the boundaries of social groups and communities in the modern world. The metaphor of the rhizome is least developed, most philosophical metaphor. It contains the idea of removing boundaries between inside and outside in the analysis of mutual interference individual and mass consciousness.
