Abstract: The principal of the well-known Moscow school, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, reflects on the moral lessons of history, the problem of their educational impact on the modern young generation, the teacher’s responsibility for shaping the outlook of schoolchildren, and a true dialogue with them. The purpose of genuine education is moral behaviour, and it is impossible without recognizing a person’s personal responsibility for his actions
